In a peaceful village by the river, an old grandmother goes to wash her clothes every morning. Deep in the river lives a hungry crocodile who secretly watches her and plans to eat her. One sunny day, the crocodile crawls onto the riverbank and pretends to be kind, offering to help Grandma wash her clothes. But the clever old woman quickly realizes the crocodile’s evil plan. She smiles and says, “Before you eat me, let me wash myself clean first.”
The foolish crocodile agrees and waits. Grandma runs home, grabs a burning torch and a big stick, and rushes back to the river. When the crocodile comes close again, she hits it and shouts, “You wicked creature! Don’t ever try to eat people again!” The crocodile escapes into the river, scared and ashamed. From that day on, it never dares to harm humans again.
